Clifton is a Few Miles East of Grand Junction
Only A few miles separate Clifton from Grand Junction, but the two towns just flow together. Clifton is between Grand Junction and Palisade off of I-70 with a population of about 20,500 people. Clifton is a census designated place has, its own post office and the zip code is 81520.
Residents that have to commute to outside the Grand Valley can jump on Interstate 70 or I-70 Business and it will take you to the north side of Grand Junction or the very south side of town. From I-70 one can go east to Palisade and on to Denver or west to Salt Lake City. Otherwise, driving to any part of Grand Junction is very quick.
Clifton has a selection of grocery stores, services, fast-food restaurants, banks and other shopping. Several elementary schools are located in Clifton, the middle school is Mount Garfield and Central High School for those students. Christian Community Schools is a private Christian School off of I-70 Business route. Central Distributing is a large Budweiser distributor for Western Colorado and located off of I-70 and Patterson Road.
Clifton is experiencing growth with new fast food restaurants and housing.
There was some very early settlement that can be visible in old farm houses and homesteads. Some older single family and multi-family housing is available and mobile home communities. Popular older neighborhoods are Swan View, Colony Meadows, Cougar Run and Fox Hollow. Newer subdivisions in the last 10 years are Autumn Breeze and Deerfield. The only new home communities currently is Sagewood Subdivision off of Patterson Road and I-70 Business.
