Grand Junction Colorado Summer Camp Options
It is that time of year to start thinking about summer camp for the children and Grand Junction, Colorado has great summer camp options. It shouldn’t be just any camp, the camp should stimulate the child’s mind and body. That is exactly what makes the choice for camp so hard. I have reviewed the camp options for my 7 year old granddaugher and I am so glad that we live in Grand Junction! The John McConnell Math and Science Center is offering mind stimulating programs in science projects, nature, Lego engineering, coding and chemistry projects. The Math and Science Center offers year-round programs for the kids. The center is filled with all sorts of exhibits and experiments that the kids can go around and do themselves. Memberships are available and the weekly Saturday Science Hour is very popular. The Art Center offers an educational experience that provides all ages the opportunity for learning different types of art and craft processes as well as the opportunity for learning self-expression and creativity in an open and non-judgmental environment. The Art Center offers programs year-round for the children and teens. The various programs will take place at different parks, pools and schools. There are sports camps in basketball, football, volleyball to name a few. One of Grand Junction’s most visited historic sites, Cross Orchards, is a step back in time to the 1900’s. Cross Orchards was the biggest orchard in the Grand Valley. Today, some of the original buildings, equipment, and museum, offer a glimpse into farm life. Cross Orchards is offering a summer camp where the children will learn about farm life, agriculture, blacksmithing, cooking, carpentry and sewing.
