Depending on how much time you have, there are 6 primary locations: Near the airport, Downtown, West GJ by the mall, Fruita , Palisade and the Redlands.
Most of the hotels are on Horizon Drive near the airport. Therefore, there are also many restaurants like Wendy's, Freddy's, Applebees, Tacobell and more nearby on Horizon Drive. If you would like more than fast-food, a few good choices are WW Peppers, Citrola's, and Pantuso's. In addition there is Tepanyaki Japanese Steak House, Village Inn and Enzo's Pizzaria & Italian Cafe. All are convenient and easy to walk or drive to from the hotels. The airport area has the typical hotel chains, like Quality Inn, Rodeway, Choice and many more. Let me suggest a few of the popular ones to consider.
Residence Inn
The closest to the airport and only 10 minutes from downtown, the Residence Inn offers apartment-style suites, fully outfitted kitchen and free grocery delivery. Complimentary breakfast buffet, and free drinks and appetizers in the evening. Includes free internet, indoor pool, parking and airport transportation. The hotel is pet friendly. Adjacent to the Residence Inn is the Courtyard by Marriott with in-house Bistro Restaurant and 24 hour market.

Downtown
SpringHill Suites by Marriott
Located in Historic Downtown Grand Junction, is a hotel with space and style at an affordable price. Amenities such as microwave, mini-fridge, free high-speed internet, and spa-like bathroom. Complimentary hot breakfast, pool, fitness center and the best part the hotel is located within walking distance to many locally owned restaurants, boutiques and salons. Favorite restaurants of mine are MX Tapas, Il Bistro Italian Restaurant, and the Goat and Clover. Other Downtown hotels, are the Fairfield Inn, Hampden Inn and Tru By Hilton. All of them except Tru are on Main Street.
West Grand Junction by Mall
Holiday Inn and Suites
The Holiday Inn is off of I-70 and conveniently located by major shopping, restaurants, movie theaters and outdoor recreation. A modern, sophisticated hotel that offers amenities such as high-speed internet, large suites, flat screen TV, full service restaurant and bar, room service, fitness room, business center and meeting space. There is an indoor pool and whirlpool . The Holiday Inn is walking distance to the movie theater, restaurants, grocery and shopping.

Fruita
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham
There is an overabundance of things to do in Fruita. You be will near the Colorado National Monument, McInnis Canyons National Conserve and the Colorado River. Take in a hike, mountain bike or go to the Dinosaur Journey Museum. The La Qunita Inn has comfortable accommodations and is within walking distance to restaurants, and James M. Robb Colorado River State Park. The hotel offers free Wifi, breakfast, coffee maker, mini-refrigerator, microwave and flat screen TV's. The hotel is pet friendly. After a day of us exploring homes, unwind with a swim in the pool.

Palisade
Palisade is the fruit and wine capital of Colorado. Palisade has the best summer Farmer's market on Sundays and is home to some of the best festivals. The Palisade Bluegrass and Roots Festival, Palisade Peach Festival, and the Colorado Mountain WineFest are a few of the top ones. For this reason, it may be hard to get a reservation and you should book far in advance.
Wine Country Inn
A luxury 80 room hotel surrounded by vineyards and views of the Bookcliff Mountains and the Grand Mesa. The Wine Country Inn is all about richness, leisure and enjoyment. Free WiFi, flat screen TV, private refrigerator and microwave and coffee pots are standard. Redlands
The Redlands is a neighborhood in Grand Junction. Not just any neighborhood, but the most popular neighborhood to live in.
Two Rivers Winery and Chateau
The Chateau offers upscale lodging and gracious hospitality for special events. The architecture and decor create the feel of a Country French Chateau. Suites are available to rent throughout the year. The Chateau is steps away from the Two Rivers Winery with a tasting room that is open 7 days a week (except some holidays). Complimentary tastings are offered in the Two Rivers Winery tasting room. The Chateau features free internet, breakfast,and parking.
